HELBIO, Hydrogen & Energy Production Systems S.A. signed an agreement with the Municipal Agency for Water and Sewage of Patras (
Greece
) for the construction and installation of a unit generating electricity and heat from biogas. The unit will convert biogas to hydrogen which will be fed into a fuel cell producing electricity with high efficiency and zero pollutant emissions. The unit will be in operation in June 2008 and will be of 20kW electrical and 20kW thermal capacity (more details).

was awarded a contract to build a 5 kWe Fuel Cell Power Unit. The unit will produce both electricity and heat from bio-ethanol and will be installed in one of the largest ethanol producing plans in
Greece
. It will be based on HELBIO's innovative technology and will be the cumulation of more than ten years of technology developments for hydrogen and energy production from bio-ethanol and other bio-fuels. The unit will be operational in Q2, 2007 and will represent the next generation of products for HELBIO.

The Minister of Development Mr. D. Sioufas visited HELBIOs' facilities at

Science
Park
. Mr. Sioufas toured the laboratory facilities and was informed about the research and deasvelopment efforts underway. He expressed great interest in HELBIOs' latest product, the HT-1000 Fuel Cell Power System, and the GH2 pre-commercial hydrogen generator utilizing biofuels and suitable for hydrogen production for industrial uses and as the core module for refueling stations. Mr. Sioufas was accompanied in his visit by the Undersecretary for Development Mr. A. Neratzis, the General Secretary of the Ministry of Development Mr. N. Stefanou and the General Secretary for Research and Development Prof. I. Tsoukalas.

. HELBIO presented its latest product, the HT-1000 Fuel Cell Power System, which drew great attention from the thousands of the exhibition visitors. Extremely satisfying was the interest of the public and particularly of the younger generation in hydrogen technologies and the benefits they may provide to the environment through their application in power generation and in the transportation sector.
