Mission

HELBIO aims to develop and commercialise:

• fuel-processing systems, primarily for ethanol but also for other fuels, which will be integrated with fuel cells to produce electricity and heat (CHP).
• hydrogen production units for industrial applications to replace the existing hydrogen transport and storage facilities which are costly and hazardous.

 

HELBIO has produced a steady stream of innovations and technological advancements:

2005 - Design, construction and testing of a commercial unit for production of hydrogen for industrial applications

2004 - The advanced multi-fuel processor GH₂ for hydrogen and energy production

2003 - Construction and operation of a pilot plant unit

2002 - Technical feasibility study for small (10kW) and large (200kW) units

2001 - Major technical, economic and feasibility study for biomass based CHP systems
